Salvador is an electronic systems engineer specializing in automotive electronics and cybersecurity. He began his career in electronic system design, working on automotive projects involving ECU development, diagnostics and communication protocols. Over time, his work moved toward the cybersecurity domain, where he now specializes in penetration testing of automotive systems. Currently he works at DEKRA as an automotive cybersecurity analyst, performing security assessments on vehicle ECUs and automotive platforms. His daily work ranges from threat analysis and risk assessment (TARA) to the evaluation of implemented cybersecurity mechanisms, performing firmware reversing and analysis of communication protocols and services in different automotive systems, to identify potential vulnerabilities and assess the robustness and effectiveness of the cybersecurity protections implemented by manufacturers.
