Advanced testing solutions for battery cooling systems
At this year’s expo, Poppe + Potthoff Maschinenbau will present, among other highlights, a state-of-the-art pressure cycling test bench with integrated climate chamber, designed for the validation of battery cooling plates in modern e-mobility applications.
The system combines dynamic pressure cycling, precise flow measurement and controlled media temperature conditioning to simulate the real operating conditions of battery systems. With a pressure range from -0.3 bar to 10 bar for dynamic testing and up to 20 bar for static tests, as well as freely programmable pressure profiles and frequencies up to 2Hz, the test bench enables reliable pulsation and lifetime testing.
Flow rates of up to 80 l/min and the use of 100% coolant ensure realistic thermal and hydraulic behavior. An optional temperature test chamber with a volume of 9,600 liters and a temperature range from -20°C to +90°C allows additional thermal shock and environmental testing.
Equipped with eight parallel test circuits and integrated sensors for pressure, temperature and flow, the system offers high testing capacity and efficiency. It is ideally suited for OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and R&D laboratories requiring robust, reproducible, application-oriented validation of battery cooling components.
