Mechanical impedance-practical experience with test setups for vibration testing
23 Jun 2026
Tuesday, June 23, Testing Stage 2 - morning session
Vibration and shock tests require a mechanical connection/device -> fixture. With results affected by the fixture in the test and their potentially different test results, the question is... is each result the same? And what has this to do with mechanical impedance? How can we take greater care and what can we do to prevent unexpected results? Curious? Follow the mechanics, because that's the key to success. The machine ONLY does what we make of it!
- Influence of the mechanical connection on the test result
- Undetermined reactions and their effects
- Different test results and the question of measurement uncertainty
- Different test results and the question of standardization according ISO 60069-2-6/27 and 64
- Open-loop-synthesis and the magic view to mechanical impedance
