The Competence Center for Virtual Engineering (KVE) Rhein-Neckar is a transdisciplinary institution of Mannheim University of Applied Sciences, focusing on digital transformation. As part of the CeMOS Research and Transfer Center, KVE benefits from a vibrant research ecosystem that unites five of the university's most externally funded research groups.

CeMOS comprises around 65 experts specializing in medical biotechnology, medical technology, and intelligent sensor technology. The center generates an average of €2.5 million annually through major public projects (BMWi, BMBF, EU, MWK). With over 100 industrial and academic partners, CeMOS drives innovation and supports key regional networks like BioRN and the Mannheim University Medical Center.

KVE leverages Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality, alongside Digital Twins, to advance Smart Immersive Environments. This interdisciplinary, cutting-edge approach positions KVE as a driving force for sustainable digitalization, collaboration, and innovation in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
