The Engineering Center Steyr is part of Magna Powertrain and an internationally recognized engineering partner for commercial and special vehicles, off-road OEMs, and new mobility entrants. With extensive testing infrastructure and broad expertise in vehicle engineering, propulsion systems, simulation, and testing & validation, we cover most vehicle development tasks in-house. This makes Magna a strong partner for meeting diverse customer needs. Our key focus areas include lightweight design, modularity, intelligent systems, and the full integration of alternative propulsion solutions.
Our advanced facilities enable the development and small‑batch production of high-quality traditional powertrain systems for LCVs, as well as alternative propulsion systems and auxiliary products.
Our state-of-the-art testing infrastructure includes gearbox and eDrive testing, complete driveline test benches, NVH and environmental testing, engine and thermal system testing, EMC and inverter testing, HV battery simulation, fatigue strength testing, HIL testing, chassis dyno capabilities, and an on-site proving ground for on- and off-road endurance testing.
