Alexandru Cojocariu

Alexandru has been with Iveco Group for the past five years, focusing on developing EV technologies. His journey began with designing electric motors and inverters as well as a class-leading e-axle, which laid the foundation for his current role in high-voltage systems. At Iveco he focuses mainly on advancing the high-voltage functions and safety features of the company's heavy-duty truck line-up. His work revolves mainly around ensuring that Iveco's trucks meet customer expectations and allow them to be risk free. He has developed a novel IMD signals filter that he will present at the expo.

Novel approach to filtering isolation resistance values in EVs

As electric vehicles become increasingly common, the need to ensure their safety and reliability is more important than ever. The most serious electrical issue during the EV life is the loss of isolation between HV bus and the chassis of the vehicle. For this reason, the isolation value must be checked at all times. Such a check is performed by the so-called IMD (isolation monitoring device). On trucks, due to the large number of components, these values are not always stable and coherent. Therefore, a novel filtering algorithm is proposed.
